Vesc controller for ebike?

Hey want to jump into vesc world but am split on what brand and specs for vesc as they come in alot of very different models and such. I foudn this original Based on VESC4.12, hearing makerbase is reliable and my ebike is 52v 50a from the battery and the original controller

If you just want to ride by throttle, it's OK. If you want to use PAS assistance or a torquesensor, a VESC is not the first choice.
